Aims and tasks
The main emphasis of this program is put on the aspects of technical realization of walking machines. This research program is sponsored by the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). The program aims at the solution of some of the biggest problems in the field of walking. The results shall be taken into account for the relization of walking machines, including problems of walking structures, walking dynamics, espacially for two- and four-legged walking machines and problems behaviour control of walking. Furthermore the problem areas of sensoric, sensor data processing, actor control belong to this field of work. Besides theoretical works the proposed program must also contain experiments. In addition to engineers also biologists and computer scientists participate in the program.
